I believe it is very important to be knowledgable in regards to what it is you are putting on your skin. Marketing and sales people are very clever and will find ways to persuade you and convince you that “this is what you need for you skin” etc. In this blog post I will be going into detail about what is in the DMK products and why they were prescribed to me.
“It has been a lifelong quest to create techniques and products that help maintain a youthful appearance.”- Danné Montague-King
The first important items you should start off with are a cleanser, exfoliant and moisturiser. Once you have these 3 main essentials you can begin to grow your collection and incorporate serums, masks, peels etc.
Milk Cleanser- is formulated with a blend of botanical cleansing agents and contains rich nutrients plus calming herbs for fragile, lipid-dry or reactive skin that responds better to a milk cleanser than a foaming cleanser. I was prescribed this cleanser as my skin was quite dehydrated and sensitive, especially from prior use of proactiv. Key Ingredients: White oak bark extract, Yucca schidigera extract, Soybean and Birchbark extract.
Acu-Moist- is a gentle rebalancing moisturiser for blemish- and acne-prone skin. The light, non-greasy crème works to regulate the dysfunctions in acne-prone skin. It also has a moisture-occluding effect that works to retain normal moisture leaves within the skin, which can be compromised by the ingredients incorporated in many acne treatments. The moisturiser aims to balance the moisture levels within the skin suffering from over-drying, as well as over-oily skin. ACU-MOIST is paraben-, sulfate- and benzoyl peroxide-free.
Herb & Mineral Mist- is a unique mineral- and vitamin-rich formula that assists the delivery of DMK crèmes and serums. The mist binds with DMK Acu-Moist to aid in transdermal delivery and can be sprayed over make-up to brighten and refresh tired skin. There are multiple key ingredients in the formula including alfalfa which aids absorption, sarsaparilla acts as an antiseptic, liquorice is immune boosting and works to inhibit melanin, fenugreek reduces inflammatory conditions, hops is a powerful antioxidant and kelp helps to prevent infection and skin eruptions.
Revitosin- this aims to balance the skin by exfoliating and allowing fluids to flow freely. It uses a paramedical botanical base to dissolve dry and dead skin cells and forms part of DMK’s Home Prescriptives range. The regenerative properties of retinol are known to address acne bacteria and regulate the flow of oil and cellular proliferation. Unlike other vitamin A products, Revitosin does not penetrate the blood stream. Key ingredient retinyl palmitate is a keratolytic antioxidant with exfoliating properties. This aims to neutralise free radicals, extend the life of the cell, and regulate cell proliferation. The formula is versatile and can be used on aged and acne prone skin. It is designed to gently remove dead, redundant skin cells while strengthening the skin and revising the appearance of fine lines, dryness, and sun damage.
Acu-Klear- is specially formulated for blemish- and acne-prone skin. Apply a thin layer of ACU-KLEAR after cleansing with ACU-KLENZ both morning and night. The formula will dry up existing acne and prevent future breakouts. Salycilic acid, zinc oxide, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and niacinamide are antibacterial ingredients that exfoliate and detoxify. Azelamide MEA controls sebum in oily and acne-prone skin. To avoid the drying effect of the ingredients in ACU-KLEAR, ACU-MOIST is designed to alleviate this problem making it the ideal follow-up moisturiser. ACU-KLEAR is paraben-, sulfate- and benzoyl peroxide-free.
Beta Gel- this has been formulated for sensitive, irritated or inflamed skin. Designed to trigger the revision of damaged skin, Beta Gel works to help reduce swelling, redness and inflammation within the skin. It is packed with vitamins B and C and highly potent beta glucan B6 yeast wall extract to encourage healthier skin cells to fight back against free radicals. Formulated to suit those who suffer from acne and eczema to actual burns and razor rash, Beta Gel is a must-have gel for everyday use and for those times when skin needs a boost.
This is all that I have currently purchased and to this day have gone through about 3 bottles of cleanser and moisturiser. It feels so amazing to finally find a skincare range that I love and that works for me. I don’t expect 100% clear skin anytime soon, as I know it is definitely a work in progress, but something that I am willing to put a lot of time and money into achieving.

The above photo shows roughly a years difference. In some of the photos you may even notice puffiness in my jawline, which I have narrowed down to a blocked lymph node which wasn’t filtering out foreign particles successfully. I noticed I would always have a swollen lymph node in my jaw which could have also been contributing to the acne along my jawline, so I also incorporated lymphatic drainage into my routine as symptoms of a congested lymphatic system can be dramatically reduced, improving the skin’s appearance.
So in order to achieve these results I stuck to a strict regime using DMK products, received chemical peels, visited a Naturopath, incorporated lymphatic draining, as well as receiving skin needling, which I will be talking about in my next blog post…
